Site audience and purpose
This site is aimed at an audience primarily made of members of the OCC’s stakeholder departments (Berr, Cabinet Office, Clg, Defra, Dfid, Dft, Fco, Hmt) and also affiliated agencies and organisations. It is structured to present simple information first, with an indication of more detail further into the site.

File Formats
This site principally uses files of the following two types:

HTML
HTML is the basic file format used on the Internet, this page is in HTML format. It is our policy to make as much information as possible in this format. Sometimes, for technical reasons, some data may be made available in the following alternative formats.
Documents marked
are saved in Portable Document Format (PDF). To read them you will need
a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Acrobat
Reader software is available for downloading free of charge.
Viewers with visual difficulties may find it useful to investigate services provided by Adobe to improve the accessibility of Adobe Acrobat documents - http://access.adobe.com
Downloading files or documents
In the case of relatively large files, (e.g. PDFs), you are advised to save the file directly onto your own computer rather than opening it via your web browser. On a PC, and using the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser right-click on the link, select "Save Target As", and choose a suitable location on your PC; using the Netscape web browser right-click on the link and choose "Save Link As".
