Climate Change Governance & Delivery
A lit up railway track at night

The OCC has set up a unified management structure for Climate Change and Energy programmes and provides advice on better delivery of the Government’s objectives.

Many government departments are involved in tackling climate change, and in helping the UK and other countries adapt to its possible future impacts. The OCC’s aim is to ensure there is clear responsibility, authority and delivery across a range of departments on climate change and energy policy.

The OCC has set up a senior Strategy Board to manage the Government’s climate change and energy policies together, recognising that these two policy streams are inextricably linked. This senior board (the Climate Change and Energy Strategy Board) reports to the Environment & Energy Ministerial sub-Committee.

Whilst responsibility for delivering key policies and projects rests with relevant departments, the OCC has a key role in providing support and advice on the delivery of the climate change and energy programmes to the Strategy Board.
